I used warm, distilled water and Blitz jewelry cleaner to clean my rings and they came out amazingly clean. One of the rings has a light pink center stone that had become cloudy and dirty. I tried everything to clean it, and finally this machine got it sparkling again. Machine works great. It does have a buzzing sound, but that’s normal. The “off” button doesn’t seem to be working on my machine, but I don’t use it anyway. The machine shuts off on its own after it’s done cleaning. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this. It will save trips to the jeweler for cleaning my wedding ring and diamond earrings.I bought it together with a solvent to clean my jewelry, and I was surprised how well it cleans. It left all the dirt particles in the bottom once I removed my jewelry. I went and tried it also on my retainers, and it removed the plaque or calcium that it had accumulated in a breeze.so.. before we get too far into it, im going to indulge a gay black collegue of mine who insists i preface my opinions by stating these opinions are from a non gay non black cultural perspective, so they may be invalid, and our realities my differ.i used tap water up to the fill line to clean my wifes wedding rings. they came out shiney. i didnt see much going on, but they came out shiney. i put my finger in there while it was operating, and i definately felt something akin to pressure increasing the further i went down. i dont recomend this of course, blood gasses are a real thing. it could have killed me. maybe. and i didnt have a cat to try it out for me (i like cats. sometimes they do dumb stuff so we dont have to, and sometimes people who need to be removed from the gene pool follow cats lead, so... there is that) next, my wife who likes to cut tape with scissors and leaves them sticky (from the tape. dont make this weird) left some in the kithen. (i said some, we have more than one pair). i then put those in the magic sonic cleaner thingy after removing my wifes rings and started it again. it mostly removed the glue, so i said a "who hoo" and finished them off with a paper towel(again, dont make this weird). since my wifes pretty good about cleaning stuff, i ran out of things to test the cleaning thingy on. so i stared at it. its not pretty enough to be art, so i got bored, and put it away. my wife asked about the rings, i showedbher those and the scissors. she squeeled with delight, asked where the cleaning thingy was, i told her i put it away. she then went to the place i put it, reput it someplace else so ill never find it again. like my tools... where are my tools woman! seriously, she shouldnt get mad at me if i buy new tools cause she puts mine away so i cant find them.Seems to cleans my jewelry nice and back to the shine it once was. Easy to useI have only used this machine once but it gently cleaned my rings. They shine real pretty now. I use a lot of hand lotion and hair products but sometimes forget to take my rings off. This product did a good job of removing all the gunk.It does a fine job on jewelry. I tried it on my watch band, using the little shelf to keep the watch itself dry. It did an excellent job and had to change the water due to all the dirt it found that a simple rinse didn't. Be careful not to immerse the watch itself as the ultrasound will help the water get into your watch--not good.This is a situation where you get what you pay for. It won't bring your stuff completely back to its glory but it will get it close. Don't forget to buy the special soap though.This machine does a good job cleaning watches. I had one that had a lot of crud in the band and this got most of it out. You still will need to use a brush on any that was caked on like i n the clasp area. I used a fingernail brush to remove that. Worthwhile investment.
